Cosby is one of those quintessential Tennessee mountain towns. It’s as if the whole town stands in quiet awe and admiration of the mighty Smoky Mountains that surround it. This peaceful little place makes it a perfect fall destination when you are looking for an autumn getaway. I have been to Cosby, Tennessee, many times and always enjoy a fall drive through the countryside and mountains.
The first thing that might strike you when you visit Cosby is the incredible views. You’ll find beautiful rolling farmlands and the impressive soaring peaks of the Cherokee Mountains and the Smokies.
In fact, the East section of The Foothills Parkway starts in Cosby and affords some of the best views in the town. Even if you miss the "peak" of fall colors, the mountains are always impressive.
