My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
At some point, treehouses morphed from simple childhood hangouts to some of the coolest places for a unique stay in Tennessee. I imagine one person finally thought “Now that I am an adult I can make my own treehouse!” Well, I just want to thank whomever that person was because now we have some incredible places to stay the night. So today I want to shine the spotlight on a treehouse on Lookout Mountain in Tennessee; in fact, I want to showcase three lovely treetop dwellings.
Treetop Hideaway is a tucked away place located right on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The magic of a treehouse stay is amplified when you place these structures on one of the prettiest mountains in the state. I love Lookout Mountain and the views from it are second to none. There are three distinctly different treehouses and each one of them showcases a certain rustic and sophisticated charm.
The details within the treehouse are astounding, like this hollowed-out tree trunk as a sink. In each accommodation, you can find something neat like an old antique game hanging from the wall, beautiful shiplap accent walls, elegant stone touches, and so much more.
The bathroom comes with an indoor and outdoor shower and a plethora of bathroom essentials you could ever want. You are encouraged to explore the place from the hidden room behind the bookcase to the large patio deck. The treehouses are both playful and elegant so make sure you devote plenty of time to enjoy seeking out all of these hidden treasures.
The first is, of course, Ruby Falls. This is the tallest underground waterfall in the country and the highlight of an already phenomenal cave tour. It is a must-see location for anyone who loves adventure, caving, and chasing waterfalls.
Next up is a place that is like stepping into a fairy tale: Rock City.
Step slightly over the border into Georgia and you will be transported to a magical land complete with an enchanted forest walk, a waterfall, an overlook where you can see seven different states at once, and so much more. I would recommend devoting plenty of time at Rock City because there is so much to see and do that you can spend a better part of the day exploring this fanciful land.
At the end of the day, head on back to your woodland abode and start a campfire. Have s'mores under the starlight to cap the end of a perfect day on Lookout Mountain.
Each treehouse is set up very differently, so I encourage you to visit the Treetop Hideaway website to find one that is just right for you. Let us know if you have been there and tell us in the comments below which treehouse on Lookout Mountain in TN is your favorite!
