The state of Tennessee is known for its incredible musical history, both for the stars that have come through the city of Nashville and the thousands of hopefuls that flood to the state on an annual basis. Tennessee is where you come to dream big and make it big. It’s where you’ll find internationally lauded artists playing at the Ryman or Bridgestone and incredibly talented newbies playing the honkytonks of Broadway. Robert’s Western World is perhaps one of the most popular honky-tonks on the Nashville strip and for good reason. The historic space has become a legend in itself, and we’ve found all the details below.
Robert's Western World is tucked away amidst a series of honky-tonks in Nashville, Tennessee's bustling Broadway district. It's known as the "local's honky-tonk" for its low-key charm and laid-back attitude.
The dance floor may be tiny but you can be sure that locals will be tapping their feet along to the live music that's on the docket nightly. Expect no-frills and country classics across the board.
In fact, Robert's is located in a historic building that was once used as a warehouse. It was even the home of Sho-Bud Steel Guitars for a period in the 20th century. Classic country artists were hanging out in the space before it was even a honky-tonk!
Live music is on the calendar for every night of the week, and it makes quite a bit of sense when you realize that Robert's Western World shares an alley with the famed Mother Church of Country Music, the Ryman Auditorium.
Keep in mind, folks: this isn't a honky-tonk for those seeking a bachelorette night out or a wild and crazy experience. This is good, classic country music and locals with a lot of heart. Come ready for a traditional experience that's bound to be heartwarming and fun all at once.
Robert's Western World is currently open from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. from Monday to Saturday, and from 12 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Sundays. Reservations are not taken, so come early or expect a good wait.
There’s a deep history at Robert’s, one that you can only sense with an on-site experience for yourself. You can learn more about Robert’s Western World at its official Facebook page or website.
