There’s nothing like a classic happy hour to get us through the slog of a long workday. The promise of good snacks and a solid cocktail can get folks through the driest of meetings, and here in Tennessee, there is a pizza happy hour that you can visit on either the east or west side of Nashville. Five Points Pizza has long been a local favorite but most folks don’t know that both east and west locations offer a pizza happy hour for the world-weary during the workweek. A pizza happy hour is the stuff of dreams, and as one of the best pizza spots in the city, we can’t recommend this locally owned and operated eatery more.
Five Points Pizza is an east Nashville mainstay and in recent years the hot spot has expanded to the west side of the city. You can find it in the well-known Five Points neighborhood, hence the restaurant's well-worded name, and you can also indulge in a slice on Charlotte Avenue. Five Points Pizza is where you go in Nashville to find a delicious New York-style slice of pie! You can pair your pepperoni with a cold beer on the side, and the homey, low-key atmosphere is welcoming to folks of all ages.
The menu is standard when it comes to a classic pizza restaurant, with garlic knots taking the top spot on the starter menu and a handful of salads rounding out healthier options for folks. What really makes Five Points different from other local eateries is the option to dine by the slice. There are lunch specials on the weekdays, including a two-slice special, a slice and salad special, and "slices of the day."
If you choose to nosh on a slice, keep in mind that they are served on paper plates with no substitutions. Why? Each slice is, yes, cut from a larger pie. If you order the veggie pizza in all its spinach, garlic, ricotta, and fresh mozzarella cheese glory, then that's what you're getting! There is also a full menu of larger pizza pies if you’re bringing a group, and they are fully customizable.
But back to the happy hour. The pizza happy hour hosted at Five Points comes around every day of the workweek, so Monday to Friday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can choose from any slice...
...plus any draft for just $8! If you opt for a slice of cheese or pepperoni and pair it with a PBR or High Life then you'll only have to pay $5 for your meal. Unreal!
What kind of meals are we looking at, you ask? You can choose from classic cheese and pepperoni options to veggie and meat slices of the day. You can also opt for a prosciutto and basil slice if you're feeling fancy. Lunch specials are served on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for $9 you can enjoy a two-slice special, a garlic knot and salad special, or a slice and salad special. All specials are served with fountain drinks. It's not quite the $5 for pizza happy hour, but it's still a great option!
Five Points Pizza is currently located in both West and East Nashville, and you can visit for dine-in or carry-out.
The best kind of happy hour is a pizza happy hour, and we’re going to stand by that statement! You can find out more about Five Points Pizza or even just peruse the delicious pizza options either here or here.
