The Hidden Speakeasy In Tennessee That Will Transport You To Another Era
Cool bars seem to be a dime a dozen these days, what with Instagram blowing up everyone’s newsfeeds and sending restaurant marketing through the roof. If it’s a beautiful space, it’s bound to get posted on social media over and over and over again. Still, there’s something to be said about word-of-mouth. Patterson House has been a Nashville must-visit for years now – even without the introduction of social media. Have you been there?

Patterson House in Nashville, Tennessee has long been lauded as one of the most beautiful and mysterious bars in the city.

Hidden away in Nashville's midtown neighborhood, Patterson House is arguably one of the coolest spots to snag a drink in the city. Built out in a speakeasy theme, there isn't even a sign visible from the street - you have to find it yourself, old school.

The drinks that are served are both inventive and visionary, making your experience one for the books. It also has a couple of rules that you have to follow if you make your way into the bar. Are you curious?

First off - no cell phones! You can only text, so don't try to take any calls. You must be seated to order a drink, and the staff follows the first come, first served rule. Doesn't matter if you're Reese Witherspoon or Keith Urban - you get your drink when it's your turn.

You're also instructed to enjoy the company that you came with. Men are not to introduce themselves uninvited by a female, and vice versa. You leave with who you came with, folks. Also - be patient! Every cocktail is hand-crafted and takes a while to make. The menu sits at $12 a drink, so know that you're getting quality.

Our photos are a bit quirky because, again - no phones in Patterson House. Still, it's a place to be experienced. Their mixologists are talented and refined, serving up quality drinks on the regular. You can visit for yourself at 1711 Division Street in Nashville, Tennessee.
