When it comes to outdoor adventures, Tennessee is the place to be. From exploring the sandy banks and swamps along the Mississippi River to the cool forest glades of the Great Smoky Mountains, the Volunteer State truly does have something for everyone. But when it comes to the most exhilarating outdoor adventures, The Ocoee River in Southeast Tennessee is where you want to be, and the folks at Outlands Expeditions are just waiting to take you down the rivers Olympic-level rapids. Check it out….
The folks at Outland Expeditions are experts at navigating the turbulent river, and they offer guided rafting excursions for folks of all skill levels!
The Ocoee River is actually the site of the 1996 Olympic White Water Kayaking course. So when we say this river is intense, you know we mean it. But don't worry, your guides are experts at keeping you safe.
Outland Expeditions offers multiple trips down the Ocoee, including Upper River trips (where the Olympics were held), Lower River Trips, and Full Day Trips that include both sections and a provided lunch.
Outland Expeditions runs trips down the river pretty much every weekend from the beginning of May through the end of October. Be sure to check out the website for Outland Expeditions for current availability.
Trips are about $40 per person for half day trips and $90 for full day trips with the included lunch. The fee includes the oar, transportation from the outpost, a life vest, and a helmet.
Outland Expeditions is located just outside of Cleveland, and like we said, be sure to book your trip ahead of time so that you can get a spot on the rafts! They're located at 6501 Waterlevel Hwy.
