Downtown Franklin has long been a destination for locals and visitors alike, for its darling strip of restaurants and shops along Main Street and the summer festivals that fill seasonal social schedules. Onyx & Alabaster, an interior design store, and coffee shop recently joined the ranks in Franklin, and the coffee shop may be one of the most stylish in the state. Learn more about this new Williamson County addition below and plan your own visit.
Onyx & Alabaster is located in the downtown Franklin roundabout, found in a beautifully painted and renovated black and white building. You'll most likely note the clean branding fixed in front of the store and the tidy number of patio tables dotting the sidewalk.
The coffee lounge inside Onyx & Alabaster is decorated in a deep, elevated color scale, with moody artwork on the walls and low-level lighting that only adds to the aesthetic.
The entirety of the shop is fairly small, but rounded tables and banquettes invite visitors to stay awhile. The front windows let in a gush of natural light that helps to illuminate the upscale design and thoughtfully chosen interior accents.
You'll order at the coffee bar that's situated at the far end of the room, one that offers a series of drinks and eats in the cold case as well as a freshly prepared menu. Expect specialty lattes, pour overs, tea, and spritzers.
Hungry for more? Onyx & Alabaster serves up "light bites" like flatbreads, quiche, treats from the pastry case, and salads for those with grumbling bellies.
If you'd rather sit outside in the sunshine you'll notice that the coffee spot has a series of patio options available as well. Doesn't it sound perfect, to sit outside and enjoy a cup of something iced on a warm summer day?
Onyx & Alabaster is currently open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily in the Franklin Public Square. Don't forget to pop next door to the coffee lounge to peruse the interior design space, too!
