You’ve most likely been to some amazing concert venues. Someplace in the big city, under the stars, maybe. At the Ryman Auditorium if you’re in Music City, perhaps the Grand Ole Opry. But what if we told you you could take in a concert…hundreds of feet underground? You can, in Tennessee.
You'll make your way down, down, down in to the cave, led by a guide who brings down groups every fifteen minutes. It's the real deal here in Rocky Top.
Zoom out, anyone? Shows also tend to last anywhere from 2.5 to 3 hours! That's definitely worth our time, and it's an experience you truly can't get anywhere else.
There is seating for five hundred folks, although the space is unfortunately not handicapped accessible. The trails down to the Volcano Room are actually considered semi-strenuous.
A monthly music event, Cumberland Caverns has been hosting since 2008. It was in 2011 that it became a nationally syndicated show, eventually garnering two Emmys.
Getting this far underground in Tennessee is a feat in itself, but when it comes to watching a CONCERT over three hundred feet below the surface? You can't beat it.
