There’s nothing quite like a slice of good, homemade pie after dinner, and the boisterous town of Nashville, Tennessee has some of the best pie shops in the state. You may be surprised that delicious desserts exist alongside hot chicken and meat and three platters, but we have found four fabulous bakeries that you can visit all on the same day. If you have a sweet tooth, then any one of these locally operated pie shops provides the perfect answer to your cravings.
Here's our road trip, folks! You can choose to start on the east side of the city or just to the south, either way, it should be easy for you to hop on the highway and trek your way from one sweet bakery to the next.
Brightside Bakery is a small-batch, artisan bakery with two locations in Nashville, Tennessee. You can find it both on the west and east side, and walk-in customers and specialty orders are encouraged. Pastries are crafted with real European butter and locally sourced produce, so flavors are bright and brilliant. Oatmeal cream pie croissants are offered on Sundays, and you can order specialty pies for the holidays. You can visit from 8 a.m. to noon from Wednesday to Sunday.
Sweet Creations Pie Bakery has almost a perfect five-star rating on Facebook for its beautifully crafted pies, all made in the heart of Nashville’s historic Germantown neighborhood. The shop is authentic and locally operated, and gourmet Southern pies are made daily on the city’s historic Jefferson Street. Pies are even sold at local Mapco locations! You can visit Sweet Creations Pie Bakery from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Just take a look at that pie's texture... yum!
Most people know Dozen Bakery for its delicious pastries served at coffee shops around the city, but this decadent eatery has its own brick-and-mortar location as well. Expect both a sweet and savory food menu, as well as fresh loaves of bread and pastries. Dozen Bakery focuses on fresh, seasonal flavors, so expect peaches during the summer and warmer, wintry flavors come the chillier seasons. Oh, and those pies? They can be ordered up special for your family occasions and holiday parties.
Papa C's Pie & Bakery was founded in 2009 by a father and son who took family recipes and made them a part of Nashville's dessert scene. Papa C's not only provides pies for local pick up but will also ship a majority of on-site treats anywhere in the United States. Both dessert and savory pies are available, but we'd recommend a slice of the homemade apple pie.
