The Tomato Art Fest is the brain child of couple Meg and Bret MacFadyen of East Nashville. Together they own the East Nashville Art and Invention Gallery, and are local purveyors of the arts. Waaaaay back in 2004? They hosted an art show in their gallery that celebrated the Tennessee tomato - and the rest is history.

The event has since become an iconic Nashville festival. Every year the word spreads, and every year huge crowds are drawn to the excitement and fun it promises. In 2016, an estimated 60,000 people enjoyed their weekend in East Nashville.

The Nashville Scene poll for, "Best Festival" has been OWNED by the Tomato Arts Fest every single year since 2007, and it even got an honorable mention in Southern Living. Not too bad for a southern city in the midst of late summer, hey?

You can visit for yourself on Friday, August 11th and Saturday, August 12th in East Nashville. The heart of the festival is located in Historic Five Points, but you may want to get there early - parking is all along the street, and it is extremely limited if you're not looking to walk a mile. Have fun!
