Nashville is located right in the heart of the ever-lush and beautiful Middle Tennessee, and the Tennessee Central Railroad offers rides and experiences throughout the year that are unlike any other in the city. Board a vintage train car and watch the beauty of the state rush on by outside your window. We’ve taken a closer look at the experience, and have a feeling that you’re going to want the inside scoop.
The Tennessee Central Railway is a non-profit organization located in Nashville, Tennessee that provides a historic railroad experience to visitors from all around.
Perhaps the most famous experience on-site is the passenger excursions from Nashville that trek all the way to Lebanon, Watertown, Monterey, Cookeville, and even Baxter.
You'll find that each train is outfitted with air conditioning and refreshments for order. You'll feel as if you've stepped back in time to enjoy the way the world once was!
Excursions take place throughout the year, but we'd recommend jumping onboard during the winter season to enjoy the scenery. The North Pole Express is great for kids, and there are wine tasting excursions as well as Valentine's and Mardi Gras events.
Trips extend from 3.5 hours to 6.5 hours, and longer rides have a layover in Watertown. Ticket prices will vary depending on where you choose to sit on the train.
Have you heard of the Tennessee Central Railway? Will you be booking a trek through the countryside sometime soon? If you've been, make sure you leave your thoughts in the comments.
