Every city has their own fun and quirky lingo, words that mean something a bit different to natives than the rest of the world, and Nashville is no different. There are eleven phrases that Tennessee seems to gravitate towards, especially once the natives and tourists build their own microcosm of southern culture in Music City. How many have you heard…?
We don't usually like saying this, because it means we're unfortunately in the land of bachelorette parties on lower Broad, but Honkytonk Highway is fairly iconic. You won't hear this anywhere other than Music City.
This fun and free outdoor concert occurs every late summer, and it hosts some of the biggest names in music business. Local Natives and Ingrid Michaelson have been known to make some solid appearances!

The Mother Church refers to the historic and iconic Ryman Auditorium, where the original Grand Ole Opry was located. Now you can catch amazing shows by contemporary artists, all while surrounded by the beauty of an iconic venue. It's on QUITE a few musician's bucket lists to play a show at the Ryman.
Murfreesboro, that is. It's a bit heinous to get there from Nashville, but quite a few locals got their degree from good ol' MTSU.
