There’s a magical glampground hidden just outside of Nashville; a beautiful place that may just remind you of your favorite place in the famed, “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Although you may think it impossible to visit the Shire yourself, what with the extensive distance between Tennessee and Middle Earth, we’re about to prove you wrong. Very, very wrong – and in the best kind of way.
Located in Santa Fe, Tennessee, Forest Gully Farms lies roughly 45 miles outside of Music City. Tucked away in the Tennessee wilderness, it's a beautiful place that emphasizes the stunning reality of the countryside while harnessing the whimsical beauty of its intrinsic structure.
Welcome to the farm! No, this isn't the Shire, although it sure looks like it! You may feel a bit like a hobbit, however, if you book a night at one of the three underground huts available to guests. Psst - we've included the Airbnb link at the bottom of the page. No worries!
The pods were built and are operated by farm owners Jon and Mandy Giffin. They've loved on the land well, culling an operation that includes and experimental mini-farm as well as an orchard. They plan to work on the whole of the twenty-nine acres to develop a food forest.
Wander through their farming trails and talk a walk by the creek. There are even two waterfalls on the property! Although it may be hard to leave, you can wander down the farming trails and by the creek located on Forest Gully Farms. There are TWO - yep, not one - TWO waterfalls to enjoy, as well.
This is the kind of glampground you don't miss out on. The farm opened in February, and they offer listings on their Airbnb page as well as farm tour dates that are listed on their website. You'll want to check for availability on both.
