Nashville is known for hot chicken and biscuits, but OH how we love a local trip south of the border every once in awhile. Mas Tacos most commonly takes a solid bout of tourists, but this newly opened taqueria in the Nashville suburb of Spring Hill gets us excited for the taco-toting days of summer. It’s still new and the tourists haven’t quite put their finger on little Spring Hill just yet, so run, don’t walk! This is a local gem you don’t want to skip out on – you’ll regret it real quick.
The Salty Goat Taqueria quietly opened its doors in Spring Hill to a slow but growing fanfare. The bright, creative interior design and fun taco options make it a fun spot snag some chips and queso during the warmer months.
The highly affordable new taco spot boasts self-proclaimed, "munchies" like real cactus fries and street corn, along with fresh and homemade guacamole and chips. Pork belly nachos round out a great appetizer menu, alongside the local favorite chicken posole soup.
Your basic taco is going to set you back only $2.95, so we'd recommend loading up! Your tacos come with a choice of meat on a corn tortilla, but it's up to you to dress it up at the salsa bar.
You can choose from meats like chicken al carbon, pork al pastor, or our favorite: slow cooked beef barbacoa. Carnitas are also available as well as the crowd-favorite pork belly served with roasted garlic and arbol chili.
Not a taco person? Well, we're a little concerned for you, but you can order anything from salads to quesadillas to tortas, with a special kids menu for the little ones who tag along. This family-friendly local eatery is perfect for a weeknight or fun Saturday out on the town, so don't be worried about needing a high-chair!
There is a small cocktail menu as well, with options like the ever-refreshing hibiscus sangria and a classic margarita on the rocks. If you're really feeling frisky, try the Float Your Goat!, which is a frozen margarita that's topped with hibiscus sangria.
