There’s something romantic about enjoying a crepe on a bright, crisp Saturday morning. It has the feel of a European indulgence, as if you should be noshing on Nutella and strawberry stuffed crepes on the banks of the Seine or the Thames. Here in Nashville, Tennessee, our answer to a European Saturday mornings can be found at the Red Bicycle. With an expansive menu and a highly dedicated fan base, this is one local eatery that’s well worth a repeat visit or two.
The Red Bicycle first opened its doors in 2013, with a location in the now revamped Germantown neighborhood. What once was a low-key local eatery has become a true local destination.
The humble shop has expanded from a single location in Germantown to three locations all across the city, which means it's not too hard to get your crepe fix. You can visit in both The Nations and Woodbine neighborhoods as well.
Each location has a slightly different menu, offering everything from tacos to breakfast sandwiches to pastries, but it's the crepes that really get all the attention. For good reason!
Specialty coffee drinks are offered at every location, as well as sweet, breakfast, and savory crepes. You can choose to build your own crepe as well, if you're feeling fancy.
Keep in mind, there are sweet AND savory crepes on the menu, each perfectly crafted and truly indulgent. We'd recommend the pizza crepe, made with pesto, pepperoni, marinara and mozzarella, or perhaps the maple bacon crepe that boasts fresh maple syrup, apples, cheddar and bacon. Yum!
Every location is artfully designed with your comfort in mind. Come for a great meal, or perhaps for a coffee date. Each space lends itself to the marriage of good food and community, which makes it well-worth an indulgent morning.
Will you be joining The Red Bicycle for crepes and tacos and sandwiches? You can visit for yourself at one of their three locations, but make sure you clarify the hours and menu of your location of choice before visiting. Happy crepe eating, folks!
