Less than half an hour south of downtown Nashville in the town of Franklin is one of the cutest restaurants that you’ll find anywhere in Middle Tennessee. In what used to be the city’s boat locker, Puckett’s Grocery offers a unique atmosphere and menu that you won’t find anywhere else in Franklin. From New Orleans-style oysters to Nashville hot chicken to one of the most extensive wine bars in the state, there’s nothing quite like Puckett’s Boat House. Here are just a few more reasons why you need to head to Franklin and visit ASAP.
The food there has been served up by the Marshall family for years and years. Their food blends the tastes of Memphis with the tastes of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. In fact, they've served up over 500,000 oysters since they've started!
The restaurant really is in a boat house. The old boat locker for the city of Franklin on the Harpeth River was repurposed for the use of the restaurant, and it's maintained all of its rustic boat house charm.
There are two things that you can count on at Puckett's Boat House - great times in community at their family-style tables, and loads and loads of great (often fried) food.
Did we mention they've served up over 500,000 oysters since opening? Their customers have even found a total of 50 pearls in their oysters. So basically, not only will you get great oysters, you might get rich! (kinda)
If you go any night Tuesday through Saturday, there's a good chance you'll see some live music while you eat. They even have a dance floor so you can get up and work off your dinner.
Puckett's is open for lunch and dinner every day, serving up their classics from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and staying open an hour later on Friday and Saturday. They're open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays and serve brunch until 2 p.m. Visit them in Franklin at 94 E Main St.
