Times have been difficult and strange in the last couple of weeks. Society has tipped towards a season of isolation, and social distancing mandates have kept folks safely in their homes. Still, in the midst of a season of difficulty, folks still find a way to care for one another. Here in Nashville, Tennessee, Potbelly Sandwich Shop franchise owner, Chris Maples, has managed to care for health care workers in the city with free meals. It's normally a bustling lunch spot that's great for local businessfolk and tourists. Nowadays, this season of social distancing has caused the business model to pivot.
Thanks in large part to the generosity of owner Chris Maples, the eatery has chosen to not only give free meals to Nashville nurses but to spearhead a movement to keep up the good work.
Maples began by delivering lunch to nurses at Nashville's Vanderbilt University Medical Center and St. Thomas Midtown, and the gesture has blossomed into a movement.
Maples set up a fundraising page that can be found linked at the bottom of this article. Both individuals and local businesses can choose to support or sponsor meals for healthcare workers by way of Maples' donation page.
