Nashville has been known to operate as an incubator for artistic talent, and its verve for local makers is exhibited by events across the city. Everything from Porter Flea to the annual book festival in the fall is meant to exhume the beauty of our great city and bring to light all the small businesses that add a bit of quirk and fun to the local landscape. If you find yourself in east Nashville, then we have a spot for you to visit on the first Sunday of the month…and every month thereafter.
You'll find all sorts of locally owned design shops and quirky boutiques, and on the first Sunday of every month the shops welcome vendors from all over the city (like Amelia's Flower Truck!) to take part in the local love.
Well-known local maker, Apple & Oak, offers up vintage rugs and styling tips in spades, whereas visitors like Parnassus Books expand our minds with their beautiful tomes.
In July, there was a pop-up braid bar hosted by Darling Salon and all of the brick and mortar stores in Porter East were open and excited to welcome all visitors.
If you visit, make sure to watch out for the bike lanes out front! You don't want to park in one or another and find yourself with not only a cute new addition to your home, but also a traffic ticket. Word to the wise, friends.
The first Sunday event begins at 12 noon at 717 Porter Road, and has been scheduled as an event through December. You'll want to plan ahead and budget well, friends. You'll want one of everything!
Here in Tennessee, we you’re bound to find all sorts of fun places to visit – but for us? This trolley restaurant takes the cake!
