The Grilled Cheeserie in Nashville, Tennessee, began as a highly successful food truck that quickly garnered a cult following at outdoor concerts and festivals. What started as a delicious and nostalgic food truck concept has become a Music City staple with multiple locations and a menu that covers a myriad of flavors and dietary needs. Learn more about this Nashville food truck and melt shop below, and start planning your own grilled cheese experience!
You may have seen The Grilled Cheeserie on national television before you ever walked through the front door, since it was featured on the highly popular "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" in 2013. It's also been featured as the "Best Food Truck" in the Nashville Scene and the Tennessean and was listed as a solid #7 on the "101 Best Food Trucks In America 2015" published by The Daily Meal.
What's all the hype about, you ask? The concept was dreamt up by Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef Crystal De Luna-Bogan and her husband Joseph. The Southern California transplants brought their foodie roots and dedication to good food and flavor from the west coast to the mid-state with a series of grilled cheese flavors and a milkshake bar.
The menu may be deliciously expansive, but recently it's the pizza melt that's gotten heaps of local attention. Made with crisped pepperoni, fresh basil, pepperoncini's, and provolone all topped on rosemary garlic bread with a parmesan crust, the indulgent meal deserves its moment in the sun.
Every sandwich is served with a side of roasted red pepper marinara and you can choose to add any number of sides like tater tots, potato chips, or a cup of old-fashioned tomato soup.
Of course, there are plenty of other options if you'd rather not go the pizza route. The Grilled Cheeserie offers a series of specialty melts like the Pimento Mac & Chee made with bacon bits and tomatoes, and a Turkey Di Parma toasted to perfection with pecan pesto aioli.
Have you ever been to the Grilled Cheeserie? There are three locations in the Nashville area, including Hillsboro Village, East Nashville, and a shop in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. All locations offer delivery and takeout as well. Happy noshing!
