Ah. There it is. This is what happens if you go during peak hours, friends. Feasts should be had during the weekday and preferably before 8 a.m. Consider it an early morning date! If you're worried about the line, check out the Pancake Cam on the Pancake Pantry's official site.

The original Pancake Pantry was founded in 1961 by the Baldwin family, and it continues to be run by 2nd generation Baldwin's. It's the south, after all. You'll find employees that have worked within these pretty brick walls for years, greeting new folks and saying hello to the old.

Although you may argue that the wild popularity of the spot takes away from a "mom and pop" vibe, this is still a step back into childhood. A bit of tradition, a small bite of American heart. Where you can eat chocolate chip pancakes and not feel bad. Where sweet potato pancakes of COURSE come with powdered sugar and you never run out of coffee.

You may think you've found a better diner or a better restaurant, but you won't find another breakfast spot so steeped in history and filled to the brim with southern kindness and hospitality. You truly walk into a home and make yourself comfortable, just in time for a meal.

You can visit The Pancake Pantry at 1796 21st Ave S in Nashville, Tennessee, from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m., unless you pitch up on a Saturday— then you can stay until 4! See you there, friends.
