Nashville is known for its many entertaining wonders, for its fun honkytonks downtown and all of the elite coffee shops you can think of, nestled next to high-end restaurants and hidden gems. It’s a city of dreamers perfect for tourists or transplants alike. The kind of place that’s welcoming to everyone, no matter where they’ve come from, no matter where they’re going. The Gaylord Opryland Hotel has long been a local favorite, but have you seen the indoor tropical paradise that’s constructed in the heart of it? It’s almost unbelievable, but well worth a visit (or two!).
The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is one of the top 30 largest hotels in the entire world, boasting 2,888 rooms for guests in its Nashville location.
The hotel and convention center may be best known for the epic events and conferences that it hosts on an annual basis, but its the true grandeur of the Garden Conservatory and Cascades Atrium that will ignite a sense of true wonder.
The Cascades Atrium includes a 3.5 story waterfall and is home to 10,000 plants. It maintains a temperature of 71 degrees all year 'round, to provide a comfortable home for its botanical inhabitants. The Garden Conservatory was designed to evoke the feel of a Victorian garden.
We weren't kidding when we said there was a waterfall, folks. There are over 8,000 plants in the Cascades Atrium alone, and the Cajun-themed Delta Atrium houses a quarter-mile river. All. Indoors.
When the indoor river at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center was christened, the water samples of over 1,7000 rivers from across the globe were added to the waterway. It's an incredibly nod to the waters of the world from the heart of the American South.
This isn't the kind of hotel that stops expanding, so make sure to book a night or a trip to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center when you have the chance. It's truly an incredible place, rife with natural and architectural beauty.
