Nashville may be known for its music, but the city is also one of the most family friendly and inviting spots to visit (or move!) in the state. If you have tiny ones, we’ve pulled together a quick list of parks you may want to check out as the weather gets warmer.
7. South Inglewood Park
We'd say this is the most overlooked park in Nashville. The area was once a bit rougher, but South Inglewood Park is now perfectly situated and wildly unencumbered by tourists. A great place for a picnic or a Saturday out and about! (1624 Rebecca Avenue)
6. Fannie Mae Dees Park
A playground that features local art?! It's true. Fannie Mae Dees Park has a playground of epic proportions, alongside and beautiful dragon that exhibits the art of local Nashvillians. Fun for the littles and the adults, wouldn't you say? (2400 Blakemore Ave)
5. Shelby Bottoms
This East Nashville gem is a must for granola eating adults, but what about for the kids? A recent renovation has outfitted the park with a great little playground and fantastic spot for sports games and recreation. Plus, you can hike the trails or visit the nature center if you need to switch it up a bit. (1900 Davidson Street)
4. Sevier Park
Located by the ever popular 12 South community area, Sevier Park is great for families that are looking to stay in a residential area or wear out their kids after shopping or a lunch out. It's normally bustling with kids, so they're sure to find ALL sorts of playmates. (3021 Lealand Lane)
3. Richland Park
As one of the better maintained parks in the west Nashivlle area, Richland Park is a fabulous little space located right off of Charlotte Pike. It's right by Headquarters Coffee, so grab a cup of something hot and settle in while the kids enjoy themselves. There's even a farmers market on weekends, so check the community calendar. (4711 Charlotte Avenue)
2. Cumberland Park
Cumberland Park has become the highlight of many recent and intensive renovations, and its left us with a gorgeous park that offers all sorts of fun and inventive play. Pictured above you can see the splash pad, a popular spot during the warmer months. There's even a climbing wall! (592 S 1st Street)
1. Pinkerton Park
Yep - Pinkerton Park is in Franklin, but it's not too far from the city. This magical little park is one of the most popular in the Franklin area, a family friendly spot to take the littles with ample parking. Wide open spaces paired with a neat wood playground make for the best kind of imaginative thinking, wouldn't you say? (405 Murfreesboro Road)
