The World's Best Tacos Can Be Found At This Humble Little Restaurant In Nashville
Tacos have become a staple for many US cities, providing the perfect bite of flavor alongside a hefty dose of south of the border crunch. Although many of us would like to claim our never-ending love for the handheld meal, most fell off the wagon when Taco Bell stepped in and made all sorts of ridiculous out of our favorite eats. Thankfully, there are spots all over Tennessee seeking to take back the taco — and this one in Nashville? It’s by far our favorite.

You may not believe it now, but once upon a time, Mas Tacos por Favor started out as a down-and-out unknown that struck out for itself in a 1974 Winnebago. The fabulous taco spot has since garnered a cult-like following, and all for good reason.

Now located in a brick-and-mortar spot in East Nashville, Mas Tacos serves up $3 tacos in an intimate venue that's decorated with brilliant colors and mismatched chairs. Snag a table festooned with a roll of paper towels and a bottle of hot sauce and you're ready to take on your meal.

Lines tend to snake out the door, hungry Nashvillians jostling one another in anticipation, so make sure that you come during the off-hours. Usually, around 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. you'll beat — or miss — the crowds.

Mas Tacos is known for its authentic Mexican cuisine, made from scratch every day. You won't be noshing on chips and dip, just so you know. Indulge in plantains or a bowl of tortilla soup, rumored to be the best in the city.

The pozole verde is a sleeper hit, as is the quinoa taco which is perfect for visiting vegetarians. The pulled pork taco pairs nicely with the shredded chicken, too! Make sure to top it all off with an icy glass of horchata, while you're at it.

Two tacos for $6 keeps the locals coming, and Mas Tacos has even been featured by the highly popular, "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives," earning it a national stamp of approval.
