Nashville seems to have brand new restaurants popping up all over town. At least once a week, if not every other day, There’s a new, beautiful, and phenomenally delicious spot just waiting for you to visit. Many are good, but only a few are truly great. And that last category’s newest edition is a new face in a familiar spot in East Nashville. Lyra brings modern takes on classic Middle Eastern dishes in to the heart of East Nashville in the former location of Holland House, making it one of the best locations in town. You’ve got to try this place for yourself.
One of East Nashville's old favorite spots was the Holland House Bar on Eastland and Cleveland, but the spot recently got a new tenant. Say hello to Nashville's newest Middle Eastern restaurant, Lyra.
The space has come a long way since Holland House, but locals will be glad to know there are familiar faces behind the restaurant. It's a collaboration between the former executive chef of Holland House and the head of the bar program at Lockeland Table.
The menu features fresh takes on classic Middle Eastern dishes, like this Chicken Musakhan, a Palestinian-style chicken dish served with fresh bread and spiced yogurt.
Anybody that knows what this is? No? We're not surprised -- we didn't either. It's Man’ ousheh, a pizza-like flat bread that's very popular for breakfast in Lebanon.
Lyra is now open in East Nashville, but only for dinner at the current time. They're open from 5 - 9 and take reservations by phone call at 615-928-8040. You can also walk in at their restaurant located at 935 West Eastland.
