It’s finally springtime here in the south, which of course means the weather is not only perfect and beautiful but all the berries are ripening and the flowers are blooming. If you’re looking for a fun Saturday experience with the family, then a visit to Kelley’s Berry Farm in Castalian Springs may be precisely what you’re looking for. You can picnic in the park any day, but Kelley’s will provide you with all the gorgeous strawberries and blueberries and blackberries necessary for those springtime pies. Care to take a look?
Located on the banks of the Cumberland River, the family owned and operated farm has been a part of the local community since 1978. It originally began as a blueberry and strawberry farm, but has recently expanded into a preeminent spot for blackberries, peaches and raspberries.
If you can't make it out to the farm itself, you can purchase berries from Kelley's Berry Farm at the Franklin Farmers Market, the Main Street Saturday Market in Murfreesboro, the East Nashville Farmers Market and more throughout the week. Make sure to check out the Kelley's Berries official website for a full line-up of local markets.
During strawberry season, which runs from May to June, the farm is open from 7am to 6pm, every day of the week. You better get picking, friends! Head on over to 50 Riverview Estates Lane in Castalian Springs to find some sweet, sweet berries of your own.
