If you find yourself shopping for something strange, quirky, or downright odd, you may feel at a loss as you wander the aisles of your local Target or discount store. It’s rare to find a boutique that specializes in the offbeat, but here in East Nashville, it’s well-known that Hail, Dark Aesthetics is the place to head for everything from Ouija boards to taxidermy. We visited for ourselves and were pleasantly surprised with the expansive, rolling inventory. Learn more about it below and visit for yourself!
if you ever find yourself driving down Gallatin Avenue in East Nashville, Tennessee, you may just see a dark building outfitted with outdoor picnic tables and darkly designed signage located just beyond Cahal Avenue.
Hail, Dark Aesthetics opened a few years ago, and the antique shop and resale boutique is the only one in the city that specializes in the dark, strange, and downright odd.
When you walk inside you'll find everything from vintage medical equipment (for aesthetic, of course) to crystal balls and assorted bones. There are candles, art prints, and fascinating displays of taxidermy as well.
No need to buy a skull if you don't want to, there are tame additions like this winged cat that are looking for a home as well! The shop is fascinating, strange, and fabulously outfitted for a return visit.
