1. Richland Creek Greenway
Richland Creek Greenway is located right on the edge of Sylvan Park and Cherokee Park, and it's a mainly asphalt trail that runs for a little less than 3.8 miles. It circles the McCabe Park Golf Course, and is great for folks of all ages.
2. Shelby Bottoms Greenway
The Shelby Bottoms Greenway is 4.5 miles long, though your trek through this East Nashville gem can be expanded with the numerous unpaved trails that branch off of the main, paved trail. Great for running, walking, cycling and maybe even bringing the stroller, it's one of the most popular greenways in the city.
3. Mossy Ridge Trail
Mossy Ridge Trail is 4.9 miles in completion, and it's a moderately rated hiking trail that's highly trafficked and popular. It's known as one of the best trails in the city, and its located in Percy Warner Park makes it easy to access and experience on your own. There are quite a few scenic views, including small waterfalls and creeks.
Rolling Mill Hill Greenway
The Rolling Mill Hill Greenway is a little known greenway that's located near downtown. It's a short greenway, it's almost more of a walkway, but it stretches along the Cumberland River right outside of Nashville's popular Pinewood Social.
5. Mill Creek Greenway
Mill Creek Greenway is a 2.7 mile loop trail that's located in Antioch Park, in the suburb of Antioch, Tennessee. You'll find the greenway full of families on an average day, and it's a great spot for trail running and nature treks. Keep your eyes peeled as you wander by the river, of course. You never know what wildlife you might see!
6. Cumberland River Greenway
The Cumberland River Greenway is 7.58 miles in its entirety, and it's an asphalt paved surface that's great for everything from walking and cycling to inline skating. Keep in mind that its not only easy to get to but also wheelchair accessible, which is great for everyone.
7. Stones River Greenway
The Stones River Greenway is a multi-use trail that stretches 5.7 miles from Percy Priest Lake all the way to the Cumberland River. It's a great greenway for dog walkers, and the moderate, out-and-back trail is great for families and folks of all ages. You'll even find quite a few cyclists enjoying the expansive railway!
8. Peeler Park Loop
Peeler Park Loop is one of the least utilized hiking trails in Nashville's greater area, and it's quite a shame. The 2.7 mile loop trail is found in Madison, Tennessee, and is a popular spot for walking, trail running and the spare nature trip.
9. Lake and Ganier Ridge Trail Loop
This Radnor Lake loop combines the popular Lake Loop with the Ganier Ridge Trail. At 4.1 miles, it's moderately trafficked and used mainly for hiking, walking and wildlife peeping. It's a great way to get all your steps in while enjoying the great outdoors.
10. Bells Bend Loop
Lightly trafficked and a bit out of the way, the Bells Bend Loop Trail is a great spot to wander for folks of all ages and abilities. The 4.4 mile loop trail will take you out along the riverfront, and is perfect for folks looking to bring Fido along.
