There’s A Chocolate Shop In Nashville And It’s Just As Awesome As It Sounds

Have you ever heard of the Goo Goo Cluster? The candy may not be known to folks outside the broad realm of the American South, but it’s actually a historic candy with a pretty deep history that’s found right here in Nashville, Tennessee. Both the Goo Goo Shop and the candy itself were invented and implemented in Music City and the nutty, caramelly, marshmallow, and milky chocolate-based treat is too good to pass up. We have some fun information about the shop below, and a few fun surprises in store for the summertime.

You'll find the Goo Goo Shop located right off of Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee. While it may be tucked away from the honky-tonks and bars, it does hide a deep history and a whole lot of sweet treats.

The Goo Goo Cluster shop boasts its own little ice cream spot, retail section, and classes that you can attend to learn more about the famous combination candy. The recipe was first invented in 1912 by Howell Campbell, Sr. and Porter Moore.

It was a big deal back then because the Goo Goo Cluster was the first candy bar to utilize a combination of textures and flavor. Whereas candy bars used to only singularly use chocolate, taffy, or caramel, the Goo Goo Cluster introduced a candy made with marshmallows, and peanuts, and chocolate galore!
