While East Tennessee often gets the most publicity when it comes to Tennessee landscapes, the rolling hills around Nashville offer some of the most beautiful views you’ll find anywhere in the state. And if you’re looking for a unique way to see those views, look no further than the Tennessee Central Railway. Onboard one of their weekend excursions, you’ll get views of the area’s natural beauty that you won’t find anywhere else, so you’ll want to be sure to add this to your bucket list soon.
The Tennessee Central Railway Museum is dedicated to preserving historical railroad equipment, but they love to show it off with regular Saturday excursions that you can book tickets on.
The excursions range in time and distance from just a few hours to the entire day depending on how far they're going. It could be to the quaint town of Watertown, or it could be to the famous and incredible DelMonaco Winery.
While there isn't a bad seat anywhere on the train, they are known for their incredible glass-domed car that gives you panoramic views of everything around you.
They also have themed excursions throughout the year, including murder mystery train rides, Valentines dinner rides, and of course the annual Christmas trains.
Excursions are always on Saturdays, but the offerings vary from week to week, and they don't run every weekend. Be sure to check out their website below to find the excursion right for you.
