This Antique Blacksmith Shop In Nashville Is Now A Restaurant And You Need To Visit
Nashville has long been known for having an elbow-deep hand in southern history, what with its involvement in the Civl War and position as a cultural and trade center that knit the north to the south. With such a deep tie to the past you’re bound to run into a bit of history on every street corner, which is why we’re so excited about the recent opening of Geist.

Nashville's historic Germantown area has boomed in recent years, becoming an upper class reflection of the city's past. Home to gorgeous new townhomes and some of the most beautiful restaurants in the nation, it's definitely become a local and national destination.

Geist is one of the newest spaces to open their doors, located in a renovated old blacksmith shop. Once the John Geist and Sons Blacksmith Shop, it originally opened in 1886 until it closed a century later in 2006.

The property has since been renovated to reflect the city's historic center and relevant local culture. Geist operates as a popular bar and restaurant, serving folks from all over the world on a weekly basis.

It's a neat thing, to enjoy a meal where the city once saw their ironwork sculpted and lawnmowers repaired. It was a normal space, a place where folks came to be taken care of and shoot the breeze on a normal day.

The building itself was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a true Nashville legacy. Make sure to indulge in their homemade limoncello, their chocolate torte and perhaps their delectable ravioli for dinner. We'd never turn down a brunch-time Dutch baby, either!

You can experience this beautiful place for yourself at 311 Jefferson Street in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. See you there!
Nashville eating may be great, but springtime in the city is also pretty magical…
