The Tiny Deli Just Outside Of Nashville May Become Your New Favorite Breakfast Spot
You can take it from us, this tiny little Nashville eatery, tucked away in the nearby historic town of Franklin, is one of the best spots to enjoy a low-key, country breakfast in the heart of the south. Mismatched chairs and a fantastic menu made up of homemade meals and treats make for a perfect day out and about in small town Tennessee.

Historic downtown Franklin has its fair share of eateries, but that doesn't mean that all brick-laden restaurants are created equal. The darling downtown area is known as one of the best (and cutest!) historic cities in the United States, and the Franklin Mercantile & Deli is situated right in the middle of it all.

Rampant with small town southern charm, Franklin Mercantile boasts a kind staff, with employees ready to crack a wide smile and spill their menu tips and tricks. The small patio area out front is perfect for an early morning cup of joe with a freshly baked pastry on the side.

Looking for something a little heartier? You can indulge in a veggie breakfast plate (pictured) or sweet potato pancakes, which are our favorite. The southern Parmesan cheese grits are also a great choice, or you can come around lunchtime to indulge in menu items like a classic BLT or Robbin's roast beef sandwich.

The dining room is undeniably one of the sweetest spaces in Franklin - and that's saying a lot, because there are quite a few! Most folks follow the crowd to Merridee's down the street, but we love the mismatched chairs, low-key atmosphere and airy aesthetic you'll find at the lovingly nicknamed, "Merc".

The dining room is available for intimate one-on-one breakfast dates or you can book it as a venue for a private event. Perfect for rehearsal dinners or small company get-togethers, we'd recommend the Mercantile as a gathering place for families and acquaintances alike.

Rainy afternoons and early mornings are best spent at the Franklin Mercantile & Deli, friends. Curl up with a warm cup of homemade soup...

...or snag a pastry or two! Either way, we're going to say coffee is a must.

You can even leave with a souvenir - we did! Visit for yourself at 100 4th Ave N
in Franklin, Tennessee. Hours run from 7am to 3pm every day but Friday and Saturday, when opening hours are extended until 9pm.
Make sure you fill your summer with all sorts of fun this year, including a trip to Tennessee Amish country. It’s quite the experience!
