Nashville has exploded in recent years as a top tourist destination and a foodie city. Not far behind, a whole new bar culture burst onto the scene. You can still visit Nashville classics like Dino’s and Santa’s Pub, but new additions like Attaboy and Hemingway’s has made your Friday night bar crawl a little more exciting. These ten essential bars in Nashville are great for young and old, locals and tourists, everyone and their mother.
Well. Maybe not their mother. We’ll leave that decision up to you.
Henrietta Red isn't technically a bar in itself, but its gorgeous communal bar area is one of the prettiest in the city and great for an inventive cocktail. (1200 4th Ave N)
Dino's is known as one of the oldest bars in the city, and is great when you're looking to pair a PBR with a cheeseburger. It just doesn't get much better than a classic! (411 Gallatin Ave)
Old Glory is located in an airy space in the Edgehill neighborhood of Nashville. With forty foot tall ceilings, it's not just the cocktails that are dramatic. (1200 Villa Pl #103)
We're a big fan of the Monday night mule specials here at Village Pub, but the open patio and cozy interior make this a great spot for a date or low-key hangout with friends. (1308 McGavock Pike)
Mickey's Tavern is the, "place where the locals drink," a great spot if you're looking for a good drink fast. It's a great spot for a chill hangout, a true neighborhood gem.
Beautifully designed like a true upscale cocktail club, The Fox Bar is one of the coolest spots to hang out if you're looking for a streamlined date night. Snag wine and beer and order a small plate, making for an all-around good night. (2905 B Gallatin Pike)
No. 308 is located in East Nashville, and it's a dimly lit and streamlined space that offers up small tables and a corner booth. The music is loud and the bartenders are kind, so come ready for a solid evening of drinks and dancing. (407 Gallatin Avenue)
Small plates and inventive cocktails are the name of the game at the newly opened Black Rabbit. The environment is upscale and classic, great for a date and moody enough for a fantastic girls night. (218 3rd Ave N)
Rustic-chic is the vibe that you'll find at Hemingway's, newly opened and widely accepted as one of the better bars in the Wedgewood-Houston area. The craft cocktails are inspired by Ernest Hemingway, which elevates the experience for literary folks. (438 Houston St Suite 160)
LA Jackson has a stunning rooftop bar that makes it one of the best spots to visit during the warmer months. Sleek and cool, this is as LA as it gets in the heart of the south. (401 11th Ave S)
