When most folks hear the term, “dive bar,” there’s usually an immediate shudder. To up the ante a bit, when travelers hear of the dreaded “dive motel?” The shudder turns to dread. Thankfully, the Dive Bar, Motel and Swim Club located in Nashville, Tennessee, has flipped the “dive” descriptor on its head. Designed to evoke a vintage aesthetic, this is one experience that’s bound to leave locals and tourists with their jaws on the floor, for the best kind of reason.
The owners of East Nashville's popular Urban Cowboy Bed and Breakfast just unveiled a gorgeous new project off of Dickerson Pike. Known as the Dive Motel and Swim Club, this gorgeous space is an Instagram wonderland with quite the elevated aesthetic.
Once the Key Motel, a popular spot in the 50s and 60s, the Dive Motel has since been reinvented as a Nashville-based time capsulre. From the shag bedspreads to the tile paneling, every room and common space is breathtakingly gorgeous.
Each room has been decorated to evoke it's own aesthetic. The cabin rooms are great for a quick and cozy stay, whereas the sunshine-y honeymoon sweet is the perfect answer to a vibey stay.
The one thing every single room has in common? A disco ball made to twirl from the ceiling when the "party switch" is utilized. Rooms begin at $159 a night.
If you're a guest at the hotel you have immediate access to the swim club, or you can choose to purchase a membership that provides year-round access (the pool is heated in the winter!) if you hail from Nashville. Day passes are $20-$30, and memberships begin at $365 for an entire year. That's just a dollar a day!
Indulge in a meal at the Dive Bar, boasting "hot food, cold drinks, and good times" from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. on the daily. This Nashville motel is artfully rendered and beautifully presented, a true must-see in the city.
Address: 1414 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207
