The scenic swimming hole and waterfall has been a draw for locals and tourists over the last 100 years. Cummins Falls itself is 75-feet high and is the 8th largest waterfall by volume in Tennessee.

There's the main parking area that's outfitted with restrooms and a picnic area located just above the falls. You can bring your dog, of course, but make sure they remain on a leash at all times and that you clean up after your animals. Cummins Falls is a day-use park, so there is no camping within the park.

It's a fun spot for families to visit since the hike down to the falls from the trailhead is only 2.1 miles round trip. It's a moderate hike, so make sure you bring hardy shoes that are able to get wet. There's a lot of walking, and a lot of wading! You won't be able to resist the swimming hole.

Cummins Falls is even beautiful in the wintertime. Those frozen falls give us butterflies, they're just so beautiful. Hiking and nature trips can also continue all year long, but swimming should be reserved for the warmer months for your own safety.

Word of warning, friends: if you show up on the weekend the park is bound to be crowded. Come on a weekday or get to the park early. Cummins Falls State Park is home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Tennessee, in the midst of rugged and beautiful terrain.
