The Nashville Children’s Theatre isn’t the oldest building in the city, but it definitely is the oldest continuously operating children’s theatre in the nation and that’s a pretty incredible legacy. This professional, non-profit theater is completely dedicated to the children and families of Music City, making it an incredible addition to a city that subsists on the grand beauty of art.
Nashville's Children's Theatre is the oldest continually operating professional children's theater company in the entire United States, affiliated with the Actors' Equity Association and formally supporting youth in the arts in Tennessee.
Originally established by the Junior League of Nashville in 1931, it has since blossomed into a beautiful community that has performed everywhere from the Belcourt to Belmont. TIME Magazine has even recognized it as one of the top children's theatres in the country.

The first ever production by the NCT was, "Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp," a beginning that has since grown into a fully-fledged space and series of annual performances.
