There’s nothing like getting to experience the great outdoors, especially here in Tennessee, and one of the best ways to do that is to grab your fishing gear and try your luck at catching a fish. And if you’ve ever experienced a rough fishing day where you spend a lot of time without the reward, you need to try fishing at a fish farm, like this one just outside of Nashville. The fish are huge and hungry, so you’re sure to catch something quickly. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to eat it.
Their two lakes are stocked with 15,000 to 20,000 pounds of catfish, and since it's private property, you don't need a license to fish here! You can bring your own poles, but if you don't have any, they have a fully stocked bait and tackle shop right on site.
The lakes are open for a fee to any one who wants to come fish casually, but they also have fishing tournaments every Saturday night from April through September with the Tournament of Champions held every October! It's always fun to come out and try or just to watch.
On top of the hill overlooking the lakes, you can catch a break from fishing and enjoy fresh catfish at their restaurant. They also serve shrimp, burgers, and a whole slew of other items.
But if you're going to eat at the restaurant, you have to try the catfish. It's not very often that you get to eat fish this fresh, and let us tell you, it makes a big difference.
Twin Lakes also has a campground onsite, which makes this the perfect fishing getaway for those of you who love to get out in the outdoors and go fishing.
So whether you want to work for your dinner or just enjoy a good Southern catfish meal, head on down to Twin Lakes today! Remember that they're closed Monday through Wednesday. Address: 580 Gainesboro Highway, Baxter, TN 38544
