Nashville has become a hot spot for “It” restaurants and coffee shops, but there are still a few touristy chains that set up shop around town. They’re on every list on the internet, you’ve seen your friends post about them, it’s cliche Nashville at its core. But what if those touristy, highly Instagrammable eateries actually ARE that great? These seven Nashville restaurants may look like a trap, but take it from a local: they’re not. It’s all in the timing, folks.
Hattie B's in Midtown is where you'll hit some crazy crowds, so make sure you pop over to one of its other locations for a meal of epically delicious hot chicken. The menu is great, and the opportunity to choose the level of heat you want your chicken to have is also a neat feature of the restaurant. Here's the caveat with Loveless: come during the off-hours. This eatery is definitely worth it for the legend alone, and yes, the biscuits are quite legendary, but waiting in line in the Tennessee heat is always difficult. Edley's has a few locations around town and all of them are incredible. Great barbecue served up quick is the name of the game here in the south, and Edley's delivers. Since it is a chain most folk tend to write it off, but this is one local hot spot that deserves attention. Address: Various Locations
Las Paletas has exploded into a tourist haven in recent years. Not only for the delectable popsicles on the menu, but its prime location in the heart of 12th Avenue South. Biscuit Love made a name for itself as a local food truck, and has recently expanded into multiple brick-and-mortar locations alongside media fanfare. The fried chicken and brunch menu items are mindblowing, and you can't find a bonut anywhere else in the city. This one's a must if you're in love with breakfast. Address: Various Locations
ACME can get a bit of a bad rap for its location on the wildly touristy Broadway stretch of downtown Nashville. The southern comfort classics on the menu and the fun atmosphere make it a great place to hangout, whether you're a local or a tourist. Address: 101 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201
Barista Parlor started out as an ultra-trendy East Nashville coffee shop, and has since expanded into a local coffee empire and yes, a bit of a tourist trap.
