The first on our list of the best winter hikes in Nashville is Radnor Lake State Park. The Radnor Lake Loop is a true oasis just outside of Nashville's urban center. Most folks find themselves walking the lake loop which offers panoramic views of the water and meanders through the gentle hills surrounding the water.
Peeler Park Greenway is located in the Neelys Bend Loop of Madison, Tennessee, with a paved greenway perfect for cycling, running, jogging, or simply walking through the beautifully wooded countryside. You'll also wander along the Cumberland River which is chilly and beautiful during the winter months. It's a wonderful park for winter hiking in Nashville.
Perhaps the most rugged of the hikes on this list, you'll wander more hills and trek through more valleys than any other spot in the city at Beaman Park. It's gorgeous and less trafficked as well making it perfect for some cold weather hiking in Nashville.
You'll experience not only the snowy chill of the woods but the freezing view of the park's J. Percy Priest Lake as well when you visit Long Hunter State Park. You can choose from a whole slew of hiking trails with more than twenty miles of trekking available for your adventuring heart.
Percy Warner Park is fabulous for hikers of all ages, and the 4.5-mile Mossy Ridge Trail is a safe way to hike either on your own or with a group. The natural forest is gorgeous, and it's an experience you can share with the whole family.
Sewanee is an underrated gem tucked away in the heart of the state. Although it's close to ninety minutes from Nashville, it will lead you to the state's only natural bridge and throughout some of the prettiest scenery you'll find in the mid-state.
