The Best Barbecue In The State Is Officially Found At This Nashville Restaurant
Tennessee is known for its barbecue, and thanks to a new Southern Living ranking, Nashville can now claim the best spot in the state: Peg Leg Porker. While the spot may not seem like much tucked away on a side street between popular Nashville neighborhoods, it definitely lives up to the hype. If you haven’t been to this incredible barbecue restaurant yet, now is the time.

You wouldn't expect the best barbecue restaurant in the state to be in a hip and new neighborhood like the Gulch, but that's exactly where Peg Leg Porker calls home.

The Peg Leg Porker restaurant has only been around for about 6 years, but their tried-and-true classic barbecue methods have earned them tons of honors, and it's not hard to see why.

They specialize in Memphis-style barbecue, with their epitome being their dry-rub pork ribs, which are absolutely out of this world.

Like any true Tennessee barbecue, they smoke the whole hog for hours and hours, which gives the meat incredible flavor and keeps its juicy and tender.

They don't just serve ribs, though. They also have all kinds of creative items like barbecue nachos and their "Memphis Sushi," which is just their sausage and cheese platter.

They also have plenty of other traditional barbecue options if dry-rub isn't your thing, and it's all just as good

This barbecue mecca is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Lines get long around peak times, so be sure to get there early! Visit them in the Gulch at 903 Gleaves St.
Nashville is full of truly iconic and one-of-a-kind spots, but this hotel in downtown Nashville is by far the most unique in the city.
