It’s not really a secret that Tennesseans love their food. Let’s face it — we’re really, really good at making the best barbecue, cornbread, catfish, hot chicken, biscuits, and pretty much every other Southern food you could ever think of. Plus, we make the best whiskey with which to wash it all down. But I think we can all agree that the best food ever is bacon. So it’s no surprise that there’s an annual festival held every year right here in Nashville that celebrates both our local whiskey and our local chefs who make some of the most amazing bacon creations you’ve ever seen.
The Bacon and Barrel Festival is held every year in Nashville and draws some of the best chefs and distillers from the area to show off their masterful creations.
Here's the thing: if this picture isn't enough reason to get you to attend this festival, then you're in the wrong place. Just look at how amazing that bacon looks!
In the past, the event has been held at the Nashville Farmer's Market, but in 2018, they're moving to the beautiful venue at Green Door Gourmet in West Nashville. We can't wait!
The festival features local chefs and distillers, and the entry ticket lets you sample everything that they bring. Additional drinks are available as well for an added price.
The festival is also for a good cause! Every year, they donate the proceeds to a local charity (it has historically been the Phoenix Club). Bacon, barbecue, and bourbon for a good cause? Sign us up!
Tickets are usually $40 per person, but they're subject to increase. They must be purchased on the Bacon and Barrel website. Tickets usually go for sale in late summer.
