My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
One of my new favorite traditions for Christmas is to take my family to various holiday events in Tennessee. We have gone to gardens filled with shimmering lights, experienced immersive drive-thru displays, and even gone to decked-out theme parks. If you, too, are on the lookout for some magical holiday events to make traditions, I would like to highlight some Christmas lights in Loudon, Tennessee, that might just be the most magical holiday display you will see this year.
Muddy Creek Christmas Lights started as a simple mom-and-pop type Christmas display in 2020, but has significantly grown since then. Many people drove by and were fascinated by the dancing lights, but it was time to make the show even better.
A timely partnership with the LoCo Drive-In was formed, allowing the lights to be moved on the same property. So with a new location, the opportunity to make the light show three times bigger was an exciting new possibility. That is exactly what happened, taking the 6,000 light show into a spectacle boasting nearly 200,000 lights!
This extravaganza takes all those little bulbs and illuminates them to song and dance. The whole show is synchronized to Christmas songs and Top 40 music in a sparkling display of holiday joy.
The experience is meant to bring families and the community together. Grab a blanket or lawn chair to sit on the grass as the show goes on. If you prefer, you can roll up and stay in the comfort of your own car.
Either way you choose, you will be treated to an awe-inspiring light show that lasts over an hour and a half. There will be singing and dancing, an intermission, a storytelling Christmas tree, and much more.
Each night the LoCo Drive-In will also be screening a double feature of classic Christmas movies like "Elf," "The Grinch," and "The Polar Express." With both events happening you can easily make a whole family night of it.
Christmas lights in Loudon, Tennessee, just got significantly more spectacular! Going to this drive-up holiday display is the perfect family outing for Christmastime, I say. For more information, please visit the Muddy Creek Christmas Lights Facebook page.
