Finding an indulgent plate of french fries is perhaps one of life’s simplest pleasures. There’s something about the crispy, salty, ketchup-laden treat that really gets us in the feels, and is just as enjoyable to adults as it is to children. Mother’s Ruin is a New York City-based eatery, located in NOLITA, that has recently made the jump from the Big Apple to Music City. The murmurs have been growing for a while now, and it’s the cocktail menu and plate of waffle fries that have rocketed this Germantown dining establishment to legendary status. Check it out below!
Mother's Ruin has revamped the old Mad Platter space in Nashville's historic Germantown neighborhood. This brick-laden part of the city plays host to a deep working-class history and a contemporary reimagining.
The original location in New York City is known as a beautifully designed, unique and lively space that plays host to folks of all backgrounds. Mother's Ruin is the kind of place where you show up after work or perhaps in celebration. Where you join your best friends for a handshake or finish a beautiful date night with a first kiss.
The french fries are served with a signature spice mix that includes the famed and savory Old Bay seasoning. We'd recommend pairing it with a cheeseburger, although there's an expansive menu of seafood-centric dishes available as well.
Fried chicken, anyone? Mother's Ruin currently boasts a 36-foot bar and 1,200 square feet of seating room. There's an upstairs apartment that's been outfitted as a glassed-in patio, and it's bound to be a favorite spot for private events.
All the bartenders at Mother's Ruin are put through a serious training process that helps them deliver incredible drinks in record time. The cocktail menu is consistently changing, so make sure to come often. You may just find a new favorite.
Mother's Ruin is open every day of the week, from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. There's no Sunday closing for this beautiful space! The south may be traditional, but this New York City eatery is shaking things up in the best kind of way.
