Jonesborough, Tennessee is a quiet little town that carves out an existence on the eastern side of the state. It’s known for sitting on a small bit of land that bursts with southern hospitality and Tennessee history. This is where you’ll find the American flag flying every day, where you’ll be met with some solid down-home meals and find yourself falling for the kind folks that exhibit the true of heart of our great state. Take a look, folks – then visit. Because that’s what we’ll be doing when nature goes green again!

The National Storytelling Festival takes place in Jonesborough, the first week of every October. It's a Tennessee classic thats attended by locals and tourists alike. This building is known as The Chester Inn, and is historically known for giving three presidents - Jackson, Polk and Johnson - a place to rest their heads, as well as the first governor of Tennessee.

Interesting fact: Jonesborough used to be located in the state of Franklin! Named after Benjamin Franklin, the tiny state operated autonomously from the United States until it was officially denied statehood for too few votes. Aw, shucks.
Jonesborough was founded in 1779, and we can see it representing our great state until 2779. This teeny spot pre-dates even the state of Tennessee by two decades, and we'll forever be grateful for its legacy.
