My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
Our state is filled with so many waterfalls that there are bound to be a few that look alike. Although no two waterfalls are truly the same, there are some Tennessee falls that look quite similar. Take, for instance Burgess Falls, one of the most objectively beautiful waterfalls in Tennessee. Well, there is a hidden waterfall called Carmac Falls in Smithville, and it’s a ringer for Burgess Falls. Yet while Burgess Falls is easily accessible, Carmar Falls requires a bit of planning to get to, but it’s well worth the effort.
While this beautiful looks like Burgess Falls, it's actually Carmac Falls.
With Burgess Falls being 136 feet tall and Carmac Falls sitting at 90 feet tall, it can sure feel like the latter is a miniature version of our stunning state park waterfall. Carmac Falls, however, is a gorgeous waterfall worthy of standing on its own. But how do you get to this hidden waterfall you ask?
Evins Mills owns the property that this glorious cascade sits on. To see this waterfall you will need to book a night stay at the lovely Evins Mills or you can purchase a Day-Tripping pass.
Once you have your pass you can head on into the woods for a short hike to the waterfall. There are two ways to get to the falls; the North is a one-mile, out-and-back trail that leads to a scenic overlook of the waterfall. The South trail is 1.5 miles long and leads you right to the base of the falls.
The Day-Tripper pass not only gives you the ability to see this waterfall, but Evans Mill also provide you with lunch. With a sandwich, chips, fruit, granola bars, a cookie, and more, you are sure to have plenty to keep you fueled for your waterfall adventure for the day.
The stunning beauty of a cascading waterfall certainly makes for a memorable moment on the biggest day of your life! But even just visiting on an ordinary day can make it feel special when you witness the sheer glory of this beautiful place.
The area is second to none when it comes to hidden oases in Tennessee. Make sure you book your Day-Tripping pass or stay in advance (link below) so you don’t miss out on this incredible hidden gem!
Carmac Falls in Smithville is worth the trip no matter where you find yourself in the state. This lovely property is owned by Evins Mills and is also a fantastic place to stay or plan your next event. For more information and to book your Day-Tripping pass please visit the Evins Mills website.
If you want to know more about Burgess Falls you should plan a trip to see that epic waterfall as well.
