Cakes and pies are perhaps one of life’s greatest pleasures. Although small treats in light of a wild and expansive world, a simple slice of something delicious can really turn a day around. Meridee’s Breadbasket Bakery & Restaurant is located in Tennessee, and whereas all of the pastries on display are delicious, it’s their pies that really put this small town eatery on the map. Located on the picturesque downtown strip of Franklin, Tennessee, it’s a must-visit spot any time of the day. Looking to sate your sweet tooth? This is where you need to head.
The cozy eatery boasts a whole series of pastries and eats baked from scratch, all set in a perfectly rustic space with hardwood floors and friendly staff.
There's a darling outdoor space as well, perfect for noshing during the milder months. Popular for breakfast and lunch, Merridee's is actually open until 9 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday, so dinner fans won't have to miss out on all the fun.
Although the menu is expansive and boasts a range of daily specials, it's the pies available by the slice and as a whole to take home that truly make lifelong fans of the restaurant.
Every pie is baked in house, with homemade crust and filling made with the freshest ingredients. There's nothing pre-made here! Inquire about frozen pies as well, if you're looking for something special.
The pie menu changes daily, since there are certain pies available on differing days of the week. Visit on Wednesday for pecan, on Monday for blackberry pie or a slice of chocolate chess pecan, maybe pop by on Thursday for a fresh coconut slice.
Seasonal favorites are also made available throughout the year, but make sure to check out Merridee's Facebook page to check on the timing. If you're already chomping at the bit for pumpkin pie, reach out over Facebook!
