One of Nashville’s preeminent brunch restaurants occupies a humble corner on Gallatin Avenue, the main drag through the artsy, hipster-honed Eastside. Marche Artisan Foods has been serving European-inspired meals to the patrons of Music City for years, and somehow its remained quite the bustling local spot. Of course, you’re bound to find a few tourists, especially during popular hours, but if you visit in the early morning it’s as if you’re revisiting the Nashville from long ago, a city borne of the countryside.
Marche Artisan Foods is Nashville's answer to a sophisticated, simple, and aesthetically pleasing brunch experience. The menu is seasonally focused and brunch is served daily, which means you can indulge in everything from croissant french toast to a classic BLT sandwich.
The interior is tastefully decorated and arranged, with a delightfully farmhouse-chic vibe paired with huge floor to ceiling windows. Natural light floods the space at all hours, illuminating the floral accents and beautiful wood floors.
Hailed as "the most popular brunch in town" by Bon Appetit, honored by Huffington Post, The New York Times, the Washington Examiner and Nashville's own Tennessean, Marche has garnered quite the following since its opening.
The croissant french toast, smothered in powdered sugar and served with a pot of maple syrup, tends to be one of the most "Instagrammable" menu items available. Don't turn up your nose at the sweet and savory crepes, though! Even oatmeal is served with peaches and cream in the summertime, elevating even a simple dish to memorable status.
Marche is quite proud of their partners and local farmers from whom they source fabulous ingredients for their dishes. You can find an entire list of local farms and businesses on their website, including mentions of the ever-popular Peach Truck, Dozen Bakery, Porter Road Butcher and High Garden Sea.
As a seasonally-focused menu, it does change continuously. Make sure to capitalize on the full beverage menu or perhaps the freshly prepared breads and pastries available every day. At the time of this publication, the fruit tartine is being served with Peach Truck peaches, Tennessee mountain honey and ricotta on currant toast, and it's just as delicious as it sounds.
There are no reservations available, so make sure you come early for a luxurious breakfast experience. Marche is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Friday to Sunday, and until 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
