My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
Here in Tennessee, we have some phenomenal trails to explore. In fact, you can spend a lifetime exploring everything from east to west in our beautiful state. Interestingly enough, Chimney Rocks Trail looks strikingly similar to Snooper Rock Trail. These TN trails each boast similar overlooks, but offer hikers wholly unique adventures.
Chimney Rocks Trail will take you up to a view overlooking the French Broad River.
When you take in the beautiful sights, you might get a sense of deja vu. If you have been hiking near Chattanooga, you might see the similarities between Chimney Rocks Trail and Snooper Rock Trail.
For reference, here is a picture of Snooper Rock Trail. The similarities between the two is quite remarkable, and both of them have much to offer nature-loving hikers.
The trail leads into Weavers Bend Campground which will close the gate of the road leading to the trailhead during certain times and seasons. If this happens, you will have to add mileage to your hike but the plus side is the beautiful sights you can get along the way.
If you enjoy a secluded hike then this trail will be perfect for you. Many times there are very few people traveling this route so you will have a lot of time to be alone.
The trail will lead you straight up for around 4.5 miles and you will gain 1,171 feet of elevation along the way for a moderate-rated hike. The official trail will go past the Chimney Rock overlook so if you are short on time you can turn around once you arrive at the viewpoint.
The views are just breathtaking when you get to the top. Seeing the horseshoe river bend and enjoying some peace and quiet sounds like a day well spent.
What do you think, do these two trails look alot alike? Has anyone else hiked both of them? Chimney Rocks Trail might not be as known as Snooper Rock Trail but it is completely worth the trip. We also highly recommend hiking Snooper Rock Trail and we also know a local secret of how to get to the Snooper Rock Overlook without hiking the whole trail. Check it out!
