This Magical Water Experience In Tennessee Has The Most Epic Lazy River In The South
Summertime is slowly waning, the days getting just a little bit shorter and the heat index climbing and climbing until the cooling of autumn. Before we say goodbye to the shuddering heat until next year, we figured we’d head out to the River Romp on the eastern side of the state. It’s a little-known gem that’s truly a magical experience in the heart of the mountains. Tennessee may be landlocked, but we do know how to enjoy the outdoors.

The Smokey Mountain River Romp is known as one of the top experiences in the heart of eastern Tennessee, and the family owned experience has been operating for thirty years.

Located in one of the most beautiful natural spaces in the south, you can experience the beauty of the Little Pigeon River under the watchful eye of the mountains.

You can visit the River Romp just five miles away from the ever-popular Dolly's Splash Country.

You can rent anything from a standard tube at $12 a day, to a three-hour kayak rental at $20. Prices will oscillate depending on how long you're looking to spend time on the water and how many friends you've brought along. If there are more than ten, you'll receive a $2 discount on either standard or premium tubes.

If you're an active member of the military or a first responder, make sure to present your ID at checkout for a discount as well.

Your experience can be as relaxing or a raucous as you want — it just depends on who you bring. The beauty of the natural scenery is always going to stay the same, and that's what we love about it.

You can visit for yourself at 1980 Pittman Center Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, but make sure to call ahead for reservations. This is the kind of day you want to bring all your friends along for.
You’ll probably be a bit hungry after all that adventuring, so make sure that you research some fabulous Tennessee eateries before the day’s out.
