I am an avid hiker and I love to get outside to explore. I have many wonderful memories from my travels, but one of my favorites is when my wife and I went for a trip around a lake in a national park. It was one of the most peaceful hikes we have ever done and near the end, we sat on the rocks and fully took in the relaxing water and the beautiful scenery. There is always something special about a trail surrounding a lake, so today I want to bring y’all on an iconic hike called the Cub Creek Lake Trail in Tennessee. 

This lovely trail sits within the Natchez Trace State Park. Not only is this one of the best state parks in Tennessee, but it is home to one of the most iconic hiking trails in the state. If you are in need of a weekend getaway or you happen to be planning a scenic drive on the Natchez Trace, this is a must-see stop along the way.

The Cub Creek Lake Trail is a nearly five-mile hike, but with under 300 feet of elevation, it's a leisurely hike suitable for most adventurers. The trail encircles this stunning and vibrant body of water.

If the weather is just right, you can experience the glass-like water reflecting the surrounding trees. The way the water mirrors the clouds is a beautiful sight when the weather calls for clear skies -- it also makes for a dramatic scene on a cloudy day.
