Tennessee is as close to heaven as most states get, what with the expansive beauty of the Cumberland Plateau and musical cities like Memphis and Nashville within state lines. During the summertime, however, it’s neat spots like Soaky Mountain Waterpark that dial up the fun and give folks a chance to play and chill out during the warm weekends. This neat East Tennessee waterpark is perfect for folks of all ages, and with affordable ticket prices and seasonal events, there’s no reason to skip out on this local legend.
Soaky Mountain Waterpark is a family-friendly aquatic park located in Sevierville, Tennessee. Known for its tube rides and tunnel flumes, the low-key local spot has everything from food trucks to cabana rentals.
There are 50 full acres of watery fun at Soaky Mountain, and visitors with a valid admission can leave and re-enter the park during the day of their ticket. Daily admission gives guests the opportunity to enjoy all of the pools and attractions on-site, and season passes are also available if you're planning to make a few quick return visits.
There are thrill rides, family rides, and even rides for your tiniest humans at the waterpark. The Black Bear Rapids is a neat adventure river, not to be confused with a classic lazy river, with wave action and rapids along the way. Try out the FlowRider if you'd like to cut through some waves on a surfboard, and the Whoop! ride sends you down a slick and fast body slide all the way to the pool below.
You can get the entire family involved at the Soaky Surge Wave pool, and the pictured Rainbow Revenge allows you to experience a neat slide with five other folks on your raft. The Cottonmouth Coils give you the chance to slip and slide along with neat light effects, and you can kick back and take a break at the calm Coyote Springs classic pool area.
Little ones can hang out at The Hive (pictured), a kids' play zone with neat water features and a body bowl slide. Head to Boomer's Bay for smaller versions of the adult waterslides, and even a mini-tornado perfect for your tiniest adventurer. Keep in mind that you will need to bring your own towels, and life vests are available on a limited first-come, first-served basis.
